Keep the Music Playing with Instrument Donations!

Learning to play an instrument has so many benefits, especially for children. They learn lifelong valuable skills such as perseverance, discipline, and time management, and studies have shown an increase in confidence, memory skills, and creativity. Playing an instrument encourages new relationships and social interaction, teaching leadership and team-building skills. Plus, it’s fun!

We are thrilled to announce that we are working on placing musical instruments in the hands of local students via instrument donations made to us through our local community. As instruments become available, we will work to place them where they are needed most. Thank you for helping us make this happen. If you have an instrument that you’d like to donate, please contact us.

WSFS and Anthony Penna Charitable Fund Band Together to Support a Local School’s Music Program

August 2020: A few weeks ago, we were contacted by Corynn Ciber, Senior Vice President and Chief Digital Officer at WSFS. Through a business relationship, she came into possession of a brand new acoustic guitar to donate to the charity of her choice. We are so fortunate she chose us.

After evaluating the needs of several local schools, the guitar will be provided to St. Mary Magdalen School in Wilmington, Delaware as a welcome addition to their growing portfolio of instruments. We are hopeful this generous donation from Corynn and WSFS will encourage others to consider the Anthony Penna Charitable Fund should they wish to donate an instrument to a school in need.

“We’re extremely grateful for the Anthony Penna Charitable Fund’s commitment to the arts in honor of Anthony,” said Patrick Tiernan, Principal at St. Mary Magdalen School. “Our music program continues to expand its offerings and this guitar will help strike a new chord with our students.” We want to thank Corynn Ciber and WSFS for making this possible.
